چکیده

ABSTRACT: Intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring is considered the gold standard for optimizing treatment of humans in intensive care units. However, this procedure not commonly performed veterinary medicine because limitations and complications method. There are some new promising non-invasive techniques ICP, but they have been validated medicine. This study aimed to correlate intracranial (NI-ICP) waveforms obtained with BCMM-2000 Brain4care monitor during myelography dogs myelopathies undergoing exam diagnostic purposes through invasive subarachnoid (SP). The NI-ICP waveform was monitored six before (M1), (M2), after (M3) contrast medium injection into space. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) collected injection. SP simultaneously three dogs. Correlations between two methods were using Pearson’s coefficient. analysis morphology amplitude waves at each moment performed, M2, an increase P2:P1 ratio (p<0.05) observed both methods. In M3, values similar those M1, demonstrating return cerebral compliance. comparison had a positive correlation moments (Pearson’s coefficient r=0.76; p=0.027). speed administration, degree spinal cord compression, volume CSF previously may affect ICP dynamics. effective detecting changes dynamics abnormal pulse meningoencephalitis unknown origin, vertebral neoplasm intervertebral disc disease without hemorrhagic myelomalacia, suggesting increased induced by myelography.

Intracranial Pressure Monitoring: Invasive versus Non-Invasive Methods—A Review

Monitoring of intracranial pressure (ICP) has been used for decades in the fields of neurosurgery and neurology. There are multiple techniques: invasive as well as noninvasive. This paper aims to provide an overview of the advantages and disadvantages of the most common and well-known methods as well as assess whether noninvasive techniques (transcranial Doppler, tympanic membrane displacement,...

Ultrasonic non-invasive intracranial wave monitor

The innovative non-invasive intracranial volume wave monitor has been developed in Telematics Scientific Laboratory of Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania). It is based on the measurement of the human brain parenchyma acoustic properties (ultrasound speed and attenuation) using time-of-flight technique [1,2] and it is capable of measuring different types of intracranial volume wave (slow...

Non-invasive Monitoring of Intracranial Pressure Using Transcranial Doppler Ultrasonography: Is It Possible?

Although intracranial pressure (ICP) is essential to guide management of patients suffering from acute brain diseases, this signal is often neglected outside the neurocritical care environment. This is mainly attributed to the intrinsic risks of the available invasive techniques, which have prevented ICP monitoring in many conditions affecting the intracranial homeostasis, from mild traumatic b...

Accuracy of non - invasive intracranial pressure measurement

Non-invasive measurement of intracranial pressure (ICP) reduces the complications and cost for both patient and health care systems. Improvement of non-invasive methods has led to development of systems for reproducing continuous, real-time non-invasive ICP signals. So far, non-invasive methods have been tailored for the patients with head trauma. We have used Schmidt’s auto-adaptive method to ...

Non-Invasive Intracranial Pulse Wave Monitoring

Non-invasive physiological monitors are important subsystems of intensive care informatic systems. New innovative information methods and technology are presented for non-invasive human brain volumetric pulse wave physiological monitoring. Experimental study of a new, non-invasive ultrasonic intracranial pulse wave monitoring technology show the reactions of non-invasively recorded intracranial...
